HOT

Had a great weekend--grilled out, ran 16 miles with friends, sat in the hammock, went out to eat and to Powell's, made it to a friend's daughter's birthday party, and got to spend time with J. Not bad in all! Additionally, my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and my sister turned 23--we're all getting so old. Thankfully, the one-year-old birthday was that weekend, too.

This past weekend was high 90's though and today is supposed to top 100. I actually want to be at work today b/c of the air conditioning. Although, I do pity the poor cats at home with no a/c.

I had to run yesterday at 1 pm, mainly because I was too lazy to wake up and do it in the cool of the morning. It was just hitting 90 when J and I went out and although I was only doing 4, I was never so grateful for the one water fountain in the middle of the run! Naturally, the best part was returning home and completely drenching myself with the hose. J ran further and tried to lose some guy who was running near him, only to find out later it was Karl Keska - an Olympic 10,000 meter runner! Apparently, he trains where J does so J gave him some water and got his email; needless to say, J is thrilled to have a training buddy. I'm already lucky enough to have a few. ;)
